Drew started the practice in the spring of 2010, after spending several years with a top international accounting firm. Drew received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004, his Master of Science in Accounting from East Carolina University in 2008, and his NC CPA license in 2009.

Drew is a member of the AICPA and the NCACPA.

Outside of tax season, Drew enjoys traveling, spending time at his and Margaret’s cottage in Oriental, NC, & sailing the waters of the Neuse River & Pamlico Sound.

Margaret Keasler, CPA

Fractional Controller & Advisor

Margaret joined the practice in January 2015, after spending 5 years with Ernst & Young, LLP, a big four accounting firm, reaching the position of tax manager. Margaret received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University in 2008, her Master of Science in Accounting from East Carolina University in 2009, and her NC CPA license in 2011.

She is a member of the AICPA and the NCACPA.

Margaret focuses on our more complex partnership & individual clients, and is the dedicated team member for a group of our Virtual Back Office clients, where she is integrally involved in assisting them run the accounting, tax, & payroll functions of their business.

Outside of tax season, Margaret enjoys traveling, Wake Forest & ECU sports, spending time at her and Drew’s cottage in Oriental, NC, & keeping their dogs ‘Jersey’ and ‘Okaa’ in line.

Jennifer Johnson, CPA

Fractional Controller & Advisor

Jennifer joined the practice in 2018. Jennifer’s varied accounting experience includes working with a big & small CPA firm, corporate accounting & finance with a top 10 Fortune 500 company, and negotiating pricing and contracts for a large telecommunications company. Jennifer has the unique perspective of growing up in her older sibling’s small retail coffee shop which has been open for 17 years, eventually acting as a helpful advisor and consultant.

Jennifer serves as a fractional controller & advisor to her Virtual Back Office clients, where she oversees the accounting, tax, & payroll functions of their business. She also serves as the client’s trusted business advisor, manages the monthly accounting process, oversees financial statement preparation, monitors internal client employees involved in the accounting function, and generally serves as the outside fractional accountant & controller for her clients.

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting & Finance from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2000 and her NC CPA license in 2019.

Jennifer is the lead for our restaurant & bar practice, helping clients better manage their accounting function, streamline financial operations, streamline the payroll process, optimize tax strategy & minimization, and generally have a better understanding of their business.

She is a member of the AICPA and the NCACPA.

Jennifer enjoys rooting for the Nebraska Cornhuskers & Wolfpack football teams, volunteering at her children’s school and spending time outdoors with her three boys and husband.

Mark joined the practice in 2023. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology from General De Jesus College, a private college in the Philippines, Mark worked as a senior bookkeeper in an accounting firm in the Philippines. Mark joined TOA Global, Keasler CPA’s offshore staffing partner, in 2023, and graduated from TOA’s AB2 Institute Accelerator program, where he obtained his Quickbooks® Online ProAdvisor Certification, and obtained extensive training in US individual and business taxation.

Mark is the frontline team member for a group of our Virtual Back Office business clients, where he is central to their accounting, payroll, tax return preparation, and is a primary client service point of contact. In tax season, he also manages individual & business tax return preparation for other clients of the firm, and helps manage the practice’s overall tax season workflow.

During his free time, Mark enjoys spending time with his family & friends.
